How We Select Pieces

At Scribere, we have a dual project: to publish the best writing sent to us and to be transparent about our selection process. Here is the latter explained in a few steps:

1. In the first round, each submission is read by two of our editors, who give it individual ratings and accompanying comments.

2. The ratings are then averaged automatically by our system. All pieces which have a rating of 5 or above (out of 10) proceed to the next round, in which each submission is read again - this time by the entire team - who then convene to discuss which ones to accept. The rating system is our attempt to make the submission process as fair as possible. Each member of the team has been coached on how to use it.

3. We will let you know in either case the outcome of your submission, and aim to respond within a month after the submission window has closed.

(4.) If a submission does not comply with our guidelines (exceeds word count, authored by someone under 14, etc.) it will be automatically rejected.

If any other questions arise, please feel free to contact us at scriberelit@gmail.com
