The Untold Curse
Amruta Dhuke
I think
being strong
is a curse
You carry
the unbearableÂ
darkest and deepestÂ
pain
all alone
You scramble
the pain like
a normal paper andÂ
forcefully
throw it in yourÂ
invisible dustbinÂ
hoping for it to beÂ
silent and toÂ
disappear
But sometimes
it doesn’t.Â
Sometimes
the pain wants toÂ
get free from theÂ
tight container
It moves
hastily
rapidly
endlessly
all day and night
Then, the powerfulÂ
pressure insideÂ
slowly
makes youÂ
unstable
You secretly
become
scared, nervous
anxious, in the
massive swarms ofÂ
unaware peopleÂ
around
You need toÂ
cry
wailÂ
scream
but you are
strong
You keep all the messÂ
inside
yourself
quietly
And don’t let
the overfilledÂ
container
break
You suffer and sufferÂ
constantly
and still dare to
carry it all aroundÂ
instead.
